Frederick Lifsitz violin 2
Frederick Lifsitz joined the Alexander String Quartet in 1987. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1961, and grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. Mr. Lifsitz studied violin with David Schreiber and Marylou Churchill at the All Newton Music School before leaving for Indiana University to study with Henryk Kowalski and Paul Biss. He was concertmaster and soloist with the Tanglewood Festival Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa and performed regularly with the Boston Symphony Orchestra before joining the Alexander String Quartet. Mr. Lifsitz lives in San Francisco with his wife and two children.
